Kaliningrad worried about Lithuania's Belarusian cargo transit ban

KALININGRAD, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov is concerned with Lithuania’s initiative to limit cargo transit from Belarus because the Russian region consumes Belarusian products, he told PRIME in an interview published on Tuesday.

"I am very worried that there are initiatives to restrict transit of Belarusian goods across the territory of Lithuania. I am asking everyone to help. The Kaliningrad Region, I mean. We transit something, besides, we consume Belarusian food, construction materials and not only that," Alikhanov said.

He added that even if Lithuania bans imports of Belarusian goods, it must keep transit to Russia.
